Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does AcnEase help get rid of acne scars?

The ingredients in AcnEase will help to eliminate acne marks and to repair acne scars over time but do not directly improve existing scarring.  In fact, nothing, even a deep chemical peel, will help with deeper scars. What you need to do first is to prevent new scars from being inflicted on your skin and let the skin heal the old imperfections like acne marks and deep scars by growing healthy new cells. AcnEase does exactly this by preventing new pimples and cysts from forming and allowing the skin an opportunity to heal.  When you stop the acne cycle you can also try some topical solutions like peels and some ointments to minimize existing scars faster but without FIRST stopping new acne pimples and cysts from coming, those efforts will not provide good results.
Below is a link to the most common regimens for moderate acne and severe acne. Please note that if you have cysts or chronic acne, you may need to start with the severe acne treatment.

Q: I’m afraid that if I stop using AcnEase I will start breaking out. Is this true?

Once you’ve seen results that you’re satisfied with, we normally recommend that you wean yourself off of the treatment to minimize the risk of breakouts. Some people are able to just stop AcnEase without getting breakouts, but for some (especially those with chronic acne or moderate to severe acne), the body MAY need some time to adjust to the change. So by weaning off slowly, this gives the body some time to adjust, minimizing the risk of breakouts. Learn more here on how to do that effectively.

Q: Where is the expiration date on the bottle?

To avoid any possibility of tampering, the expiration dates and batch numbers are imprinted into the material on the bottom of the bottle. This is the same technology used in the pharmaceutical industry. If you touch the bottom, you will feel it. If you are unable to read the date, you can color it with a crayon.

Q: Does AcnEase help to avoid acne breakouts after going off the pill?

One of the potential benefits of taking oral contraceptives (OC's) is that they stabilize hormone levels, and reduce the impact of fluctuations of hormone levels on the sebaceous glands, thereby improving acne. When you stop taking OC's, this obviously represents a disruption to hormone levels which can then contribute to an acne breakout. By taking AcnEase® several weeks prior to stopping OC's, you can minimize the impact of this step. As your body starts to adjust to the absence of the hormones provided by the OC's, AcnEase will again help to reduce any "acne fall out" from cessation of OC's. AcnEase will not negatively impact the protection afforded by OC's during this period when we suggest you take both. In addition to minimizing the negative impact of fluctuating hormone levels on sebum production, the ingredients in AcnEase have natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. This combination of effects is responsible for the ability of AcnEase to prevent new pimples from forming and treating existing acne.

Q: Can I just try a sample bottle to see if I like it and if it works for me?

One bottle represents a maintenance dose, and is not for a first-time user entering the treatment phase. One bottle is recommended only after you've been through the treatment phase and have seen the desired results. Why?
The treatment regimens we recommend are based on both clinical and experiential data. As with any other medicine or health product, compliance is a crucial condition for success. The compliance dose ensures that the needed active ingredients are delivered to a person’s body in an uninterrupted manner for the amount of time needed to improve the condition.
A maintenance dose of AcnEase® is recommended after a minimum of one full month of treatment is successfully completed. Our personal smart system will help you determine what type of acne you have and which treatment is right for you. Please visit /acne-treatment-system/.
Acne is a manifestation of an internal imbalance that leads to the overproduction of sebum (skin oil) by the sebaceous glands. This extra sebum, together with dirt, creates an ideal condition for bacteria and results in inflammation that presents itself as acne (pimples, cysts, pustules, papules, blackheads, whiteheads etc).
To treat acne, you need to rebalance the body and return your sebaceous glands to their “normal” activity level so they stop producing excess sebum (skin oil). The minimum recommended time for new users of AcnEase is 4 weeks. This timeframe allows your system and sebaceous glands time to rebalance. For severe and chronic acne, you may need more time to clear your skin.
To get the MOST out of the product, a full course of treatment is recommended and these are different depending on whether your acne is mild, moderate, severe, etc.
After the satisfied results are achieved, some customers opt to use a smaller maintenance dose of AcnEaseto make sure they do not suffer from additional breakouts. The one bottle purchase is called a “Maintenance Dose” and is recommended for this purpose only.As a first-time user, start with a treatment to see the best results. Each treatment requires a specific number of bottles for one-month (for example, mild acne (3 bottles), moderate acne (5 bottles), severe acne, (7 bottles).
NOTE: The product is the same for each treatment. There are 72 tablets per bottle. Each treatment requires a different daily dose - instructions are included with the order.

Q: In your ingredients, I see the term tablet excipients used.  What does this mean?

AcnEase contains a combination of ground herbs and herbal extracts from the herbs listed in the ingredients.  Many herbal products and dietary supplements are provided as capsules since you can simply fill the capsule with the grounded herbs.  In order to make tablets from complex herbal compounds that include a proprietarily combination of both herbal extracts and ground herbs, an excipient (binding ingredient) needs to be added during the manufacturing process to hold the tablet together.  The universal excipient is starch, which is not active (has no impact on medicinal value of the herbal compound) but when compressed with the active ingredients in a tableting machine, holds the tablet together. This is important as it allows individuals to actually receive the full value of the extracts. Unlike many manufacturers, we do not use wheat starch but vegetable starch, so AcnEase is GLUTEN FREE.  After the tablet is made, in order to make the tablet easy to swallow, a film coating is applied. The standard natural coating used by pharmaceutical industry is called dextrin.
For the tablets, the total weight per tablet is 500 milligrams (0.5 grams) of this total weight there is 25 mg of starch to hold the tablet together. The dextrin coating is miniscule.

Q: What is your animal cruelty policy?

AcnEase® only contains herbal ingredients. It does not contain any animal byproducts, or genetically modified organisms (GMOs).  In addition, none of the herbs are on any endangered species list.  The QC and QA testing performed for AcnEase are standard analytical techniques (test tubes), not animal testing.  Here is a list of the ingredients and a link to our website which describes the clinical utility of the herbs. /ingredients.htm
AcnEase dose (4 tablets) contains the following ingredients appearing in decreasing order:

Q: I was wondering about the small print note on the bottle: "These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease." What does this mean?

It is a required statement on ALL supplements and herbal medicines distributed in the USA. Only ethical drugs (chemical drugs sold by prescription) do not have to put it on the label, instead they have to list all health warnings and counter indications.
AcnEase is covered under the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA) of 1994 which enables businesses in good practice to market and sell safe, high quality supplements to the public. We went one step further and put the product through clinical trials, which it passed with flying colors for safety and efficacy. Read more here: https://www.acnease.com/the-science.htm#clinical-safety

Q: I've been inconsistent with taking my AcnEase. Sometimes I take it every other day, sometimes once a day, and sometimes it can be a few days before I take it. Will this practice lose the effectiveness?

Yes this practice will lose the effectiveness. The regimens we recommend are based on both clinical and experiential data. So, as with any other medicine or health product, compliance is a crucial condition for success.
The compliance dose ensures that the needed active ingredients are delivered to a person's body in an uninterrupted manner for as long as it is needed to improve the condition.
If AcnEase is taken irregularly, those ingredients are not delivered in this manner and the improvement cannot really take hold. In addition, since all ingredients in AcnEase are indeed botanical, they are not time released (it is an extremely difficult process to achieve with natural ingredients) so with inconsistency, small, irregular amounts are delivered in small bursts and therefore you cannot really benefit significantly from it. So stay consistent!

Q: Does AcnEase directly affect hormone levels?

AcnEase® does not contain any phytoestrogens nor any other ingredients that directly affect your hormone levels. AcnEase helps your body to regain internal balance (repairing the potential areas of imbalance) including the hormonal imbalance. Both women and men produce all 3 sex hormones (only their amounts differ for females and males), and a number of other hormones such as adrenaline or thyroid hormone etc. Androgens (male hormones) and especially free (not binded) testosterone is one of the most potent stimulators of sebaceous glands. So if you have a high level of a free testosterone, there is a high probability that you may develop acne. Also, the imbalance of stress hormones may lead to acne for the same reason.

Q: I always break out more around the time of my period. Can I increase my AcnEase dosage around then?

YES! If you're currently on an AcnEase regimen, 3 days prior to getting your period, you can increase the dosage to a step above where you are now. Continue this dosage for a total of 7 days, and then you can go back down to the level where you were at. If you already use the severe acne treatment, do NOT increase the dose but ADD our skin care routine and topical helpers for those days. This advice is not applicable for those who do not presently use AcnEase, as you need to use the product for at least a month to start breaking the cycle of acne. This tip is not to be used as short cut, but as an enhancer.

Q: I don't know which treatment to get. Can you help me?

To help our clients to chose the right treatment regimen, we created a Personal Smart System which will ensure that you have the highest probability for success. Please visit https://www.acnease.com/acne-treatment-system/ to get the recommended treatment for you - it takes a few seconds to do and the system will automatically direct you to the right treatment.

Q: At the beginning of using AcnEase, is it supposed to make you break out first?

AcnEase works to restore internal balance and correct the factors that are causing acne pimples to form. For the majority of people, there is not a period of worsening which is reported for other acne medications. Few individuals experience more acne breakouts in the beginning, and some can also experience it when they stop taking AcnEase in the midst of treatment. It may affect especially those with chronic acne. You are introducing another change that also changes the physiology of acne, so before it gets better, it may get a bit worse and flare ups may occur. You must also take into account that it can take up to 2 weeks for a pimple that is forming at the base of a hair follicle to reach the surface of the skin, so the "old" pimples may be still coming out and this may also explain an immediate worsening of acne. So the simple answer is in most cases you would not expect your acne to get worse.

Q: After my acne is gone, should I take this as part of a maintenance program to maintain my clear skin?

Yes, you can certainly take this as part of a maintenance program to maintain clear skin. It is completely safe to stay on long term, and in fact, we have numerous customers who are on it for years. You would purchase the maintenance treatment (2 tablets, 2x's/day). Instructions come with the order.

Q: How long will it take for me to see results on AcnEase?

Q: What is the replenishment service?

The replenishment service is to ensure that you get your next treatment on time so that there is no lapse in taking the treatment. The most important factor in a successful regimen with AcnEase is to take it regularly. Since we all lead busy lives, the replenishment system makes it easy for you, eliminating forgetting to order so that you can continue to see progress.

Q: How do I know if I'll need the replenishment service?

If you have chronic acne (chronic acne can be on and off for years or ongoing for 3+ years - for mild, moderate or severe acne) or severe acne, you will most likely need to order ATLEAST 2 months of the replenishment service. If you have chronic or severe acne, it can take up to 4 months to see significant improvement.

Q: How long will it take for me to see results if I have chronic acne?

With severe and chronic acne, you will need more time to treat it. It didn't come overnight, and it won't go away overnight. Acne is a real disease, and Acnease is a real medicine that rebalances the body, helping the sebaceous glands return to a normal state.
We generally say that it can take anywhere in between 2-6 months. Some people see results quickly and for some it takes a bit longer. When you see the desired results you want, it is your decision as to what you would like to do at this point, but we highly recommend that you don't just stop taking them, and that you weave yourself slowly to a maintenance dose, then stop.
Please note that AcnEase is completely safe to take - all of the ingredients are plant derived - there are no chemicals, there have been no side effects reported, and it is clinically validated for safety and efficacy.
You will see that in addition to providing an acne treatment, we also provide the support that acne sufferers need to help with issues that could be affecting their acne (lifestyle, food, etc.). So if you follow the regimen and indulge in the support, you already will have increased your chances at better results!

Q: Will I have to continue using AcnEase long term or will it work in a month or two?

Acne doesn't form overnight, and it doesn't go away overnight. And as we say, the only REAL way to treat your acne is to PREVENT it, which is exactly what AcnEase does. It really depends on your body, and how long you've had acne for. Some people see results quickly and for some it takes a bit longer. When you see the desired results you want, you make the decision to stay on them (or even go down to a maintenance dose), or come off of them.
AcnEase is completely safe to take both short and long term - all of the ingredients are plant derived - there are no chemicals, there have been no side effects reported, and it is clinically validated for safety and efficacy.
In addition to providing an acne treatment, we also provide the support that acne sufferers need to help with issues that could be effecting their acne (lifestyle, food, etc.). So if you follow the regimen and indulge in the support, you already will have increased your chances at better results!

Q: Why do the instructions say to take the pills on an empty stomach?

The optimum way would be to take AcnEase before meals with water, and then wait about 10 minutes to eat in order to maximize the absorption of the ingredients in AcnEase. However if it presents an inconvenience, you can take AcnEase with meals.
Usually if people can tolerate taking a product on an empty stomach, it provides for better bio-availability (absorption) of the ingredients. However, the difference is not sufficient enough to justify any discomfort like gas etc.
If you consume AcnEase with a big meal or a fatty meal, there is a marked delay in gastric emptying and there are many more enzymes released that can break down the active ingredients in AcnEase, and some of the "good" stuff may just go out with the waste.

Q: I am taking 4 pills 3x/day. Why can't I just take 6 pills 2x/day?

We have worked out the most efficient regimen (3x/day) that can deliver a steady stream of ingredients to your body (not too much that it will go out with the waste, and not too little which may not be sufficient to make a difference) for a 24 hr period, instead of two "bursts" of ingredients. Taking the product only twice a day may simply be less efficient. Since the tablets are standardized, you get the same amount of active ingredients every time you take them.

Q: Could I please have some more information about Acnease being clinically validated?

AcnEase has been studied in clinical trials performed in China for the treatment of Acne in patients 15-45 years of age due to overproduction of androgens or estrogen. AcnEase is the only clinically validated botanical acne treatment that not only eliminates acne, but prevents it - this is the only way that you can get rid of your acne. We have a 96% success rate and a money back guarantee to back up our statements. It is completely safe to take, and offered in mild, moderate or severe treatments. We recommend a minimum one month treatment - some start to see results in 7-10 days - however, if you have had your acne for some time or if it is moderate to severe, sometimes it will take longer to see results. It works for 99.99% of women with hormonal acne, 95% women with adult acne, 85% men with Adult and Body Acne and 95% teens. It is SAFE, easy to take and GUARANTEED to improve your skin if you follow the regimen or... again, your money back!

Q: Once you complete the one month treatment (or however long it takes you as an individual to clear your skin), do you have to continue taking the pills for the rest of your life to maintain acne free skin?

With AcnEase, treatment can take up to 4 months depending on the severity of your acne, and if extremely severe, 6 months. After you've achieved the desired results that you want on AcnEase, you do not have to continue taking the pills for the rest of your life. If you were on them long term, it is completely safe because the ingredients are high quality plant derived herbal extracts. Here is a link on the exact ingredients used: /ingredients.htm. There are no known side effects for this compound.

Q: Can you take AcnEase while on accutane?

Accutane is presently a subject of a class action suit due to the severe side effects and has been recalled: https://www.drugwatch.com/accutane/. We don't recommend the generic forms of Accutane that are still on the market.

AcnEase is the only clinically validated botanical acne treatment that not only eliminates acne, but prevents it - this is the only way that you can get rid of your acne!

If you decide to stay on the generic Accutane, there is no counter indication of using the products together, however, we don't recommend using them together since we are very concerned about generic Accutane adverse effects. Additionally, we don't know if taking them together would make AcnEase less efficient because of the adverse effects that Accutane has on the body.

Q: Can I take AcnEase while on antibiotics?

We suggest that you complete your antibiotic treatment before you start AcnEase®. There is NO adverse interaction between AcnEase and antibiotics but since antibiotics have a number of adverse effects like increasing sun sensitivity, possible GI (stomach and intestines) issues,  allergic reactions, and of course with a long term use,  a possibility of developing resistance to them, we do not want to be associated with those side effects. AcnEase has NO known side effects or counter indications. If you have to take antibiotics for a longer period of time for other reasons than acne, you may opt to use AcnEase anyway. Please advise a physician that you consult with first before taking AcnEase.

Q: Is your product natural and botanical?

Yes.Our product is both natural and botanical, which means that it is made ONLY with botanical ingredients (in case of AcnEase herbs known from their medicinal benefits.  Acnease is also obviously all natural and can be consumed by vegetarians, vegans and diabetics.
In addition, today when we hear the term “natural,” we have to be a bit more discriminating. Water is natural.  Stone is too.  Theoretically, if you have a water solution of grinded sand (silica) or stone (calcium) you have an all-natural product.  Does it mean it is good for you or provides health benefits?  In general we expect natural products to be better but it is NOT always so and not all natural products (health or cosmetics) are tested for safety and efficacy!
“Botanical”products represent a much narrower category. It is defined more precisely as made of plants or its extracts so the potential for “grinded sand”is obviously much smaller. Not all botanical based products are tested (most are not) and not all of them are healthy or even safe as some herbs may not be safe for everyone or in any quantity.
It is VERY important to differentiate AcnEase, and in general Herborium, as ALL our products are:
  • Botanical (with defined ingredients that we know how they work!)
  • Tested for safety and efficacy
  • Proprietary (they have been developed by us or for us with a specific health mission in mind) - they cannot be duplicated or have no real substitutes
You cannot assume that other products on the market are tested either.  Supplements and cosmetics DO not have to be tested.  Testing costs a lot of money and is very difficult as it requires specialized knowledge - actually very few companies test their products and if they do, the test may not be really scientific.

Q: How was AcnEase developed?

AcnEase was developed by an MD with a double degree in Western Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine, with enormous clinical experience.  It was tested for its efficacy and safety (data on the website) and through hundreds of thousands of satisfied users. It is a proprietary, unique formula based on herbaceutical science and a blend of Western and Eastern medicine.

Q: What makes this product different from the rest?

AcnEase PREVENTS new acne from coming. This is THE ONLY WAY to really getting rid of an acne problem. It gets to the root of the problem instead of just addressing symptoms of acne.  It works for 99.99% of Women with hormonal acne, 95% women with adult acne, 85% men with Adult and Body Acne and 95%teens.  It is SAFE, easy to take and GUARANTEED to improve your skin if you follow
the regimen or... your money back!

Q: Can AcnEase be used on any age or skin type?

Yes, anyone can take AcnEase, it doesn’t matter what type of skin you have or the color of your complexion.  Please note that many topical treatments –those with salicylic acid, peroxide or retinoids - may bleach the skin. AcneEase actually improves the skin quality.

Q: How many tablets are in one bottle and for how long do I have to take it?

There are 72 tablets in each bottle and we recommend the treatment be taken for one month, even if you start to see results quickly. There is a different recommended regimen for those with different types of Acne(mild, moderate or severe).  If you are having trouble figuring out what type of acne you have, please see our description of the different types of acne in these FAQs, or please feel free to call us at 800-399-4164 or email us at customerservice@herborium.com.

Q: Is there a way for me to see quicker results?

Normally, people start to see results within 7-10 days.  For those who have had acne for a longer period of time or have a more severe case, it will take longer, and they may also need to take the treatment beyond the one-month recommendation.  In general - to get quicker results: STICK WITH THE REGIMEN;
DO NOT SKIP DOSES;
FOLLOW A HEALTHIER DIET and OUR SKIN CARE TIPS (Signup on Facebook or our website for our newsletter)
(1) As a First-Time User, Choose From 3 Types of Treatments
As a first-time user, start with the Treatment Phase to see the best results. Each treatment requires a specific number of bottles for one-month:  mild acne (3 bottles), moderate acne (5 bottles), severe acne,(7 bottles).  We recommend a minimum one-month treatment, and to continue with the treatment even if you start to see results in the average 7-10 days. NOTES:The product is the same for each treatment. There are 72 tablets per bottle. Each treatment requires a different daily dose - instructions come with the order.
(2) As a Repeat User, You Can Continue with the Treatment Phase or go on the Maintenance Phase
After the recommended one-month treatment, some may choose to continue with the treatment phase until they see the fully desired results.  Or, for those who have seen such results already, and want to maintain them, they can decide to enter the Maintenance Phase. NOTES: One bottle (per month) represents a Maintenance Dose, and is not for a first-timer entering the Treatment Phase. One-bottle is recommended only after you've been through the Treatment Phase and have seen desired results.
(3) Don't Skip a Dose
If you want REAL results, you need to treat AcnEase as a REAL acne solution. So,choose the right regimen and stick with it for at least a month. Use as directed without skipping doses. AcnEase is an easy to swallow small tablet and the recommended treatment time is ONE month. At the end of the first month, depending on the severity of your acne and the desired results, you may be done or decide to continue the treatment phase or go on a maintenance dose.
(4) Patience for Results
Easier said than done, we know. But patience is a virtue - for dieting, dating, raising a child or building a career - it is no different with getting rid of acne. Would you rather use a product that promises the world in 2 days, and doesn't work?Or would you rather not have to worry about your skin by using a product like AcnEase that prevents and eliminates acne FOR GOOD? (Without side effects or chemicals!)
(5) Harness Willpower
Acne doesn't develop in 1 day;therefore is unlikely that it will disappear in 1 day. The more serious your acne symptoms, the longer it may take for your skin to improve. But while sticking to the recommended regimen, imagine not having to always worry about your face when you walk out of the house? How nice would that be?
(6) Make Healthier Choices
We’re not saying you have to change your entire way of living, but just make some healthier choices.  Exercise a bit more, don’t use a lot of skincare washes that have chemicals (salicylic acid or alcohol), try to veer away from spicy and greasy foods and add in more fish, fresh fruits and green vegetables to your diet.

Q: I’m nervous about taking a tablet. Why does this have to be a tablet, why can’t it be a topical product?

Most of the products on the market that claim to treat acne are topical.  Acne is a manifestation of internal imbalance that makes your sebaceous glands overproduce the sebum (skin oil), and therefore it can really only be treated from the inside – by removing the cause of acne and returning your sebaceous glands to their normal performance.  This is exactly what AcnEase does.
In addition, most other products contain chemicals, while Acnease is an all- botanical ingredient based product. So it has to be a tablet to help your body within.

Q: I think AcnEase is expensive. Why is the cost higher?

AcnEase has been developed with years of research behind it.   It is a unique, proprietary formula that takes a lot of time to make, especially because of the extraction process and selection of the highest quality herbal ingredients.  The formulation was also tested for its efficacy and safety. All of these factors are reflected in the cost.  But, when you think about it, a treatment is less than a Starbucks Coffee a day!

Q: The daily dose is huge. Why do I have to take so many pills?

This is a characteristic of herbal treatments that do not use preservatives or chemical processes from extraction and processing -  it is completely safe to use quite a bit of these natural botanical ingredients to get what you need. For the product to work effectively, a certain amount of ingredients must be delivered. The tablets are small, easy to swallow and can be taken with meals; with apple sauce, yogurt, smoothie, water or even fruit puree.  Read how to get the most out of AcnEase to get the best results.

Q: Does each treatment have its own formula, or does the dosage just increase based upon the treatment you take?

Yes - with each treatment (mild, moderate or severe), the dosage simply increases. Our research based dosing and experiential data show these specific amounts of active ingredients to be the most successful in respect to the different types of acne. The amount of the active ingredients is regulated by the number of pills per day and frequency of taking them. Each pill has the same amount of active ingredients. This allows for a high level of customization of regimens to suit different types of acne classified by symptoms (cysts or blackheads; duration: chronic and not chronic ; possible causes: ex. hormonal, androgenal, adolescent, etc; severity and partially, by parts of body they affect face or face and body).

Q: Why do you have to use a different number of small tablets with different acne problems?

The amount of special herbal extracts needed to get rid of your pimples; cysts and other symptoms of acne depend on how severe your acne problem is and how long you have it. Therefore, a different amount of acne fighting ingredients (and a different amount of small tablets) is recommended.

Q: I don't have acne but I get occasional breakouts, I'd love to know what you have for that.

Occasional breakouts represent a lighter form of acne. We recommend that you take AcnEase for mild acne for one month (4tablets -2 times a day) to balance your body. It should stop breakouts at least for a while. If after that your occasional breakouts return, take the same dose again for 2 - 4 weeks, and after that, try our Maintenance Dose, which is 2-3 tablets, 2 times/day to prevent new breakouts from coming. AcnEase is safe to be used longer term.

Q: What is the key ingredient in this supplement?

There is no key ingredient; they all work together to create a powerful solution. Here are all the ingredients

Q: Are your products non-comedogenic? And do they contain SPF?

Comedogenic cor non-comedogenic description ONLY applies to TOPICAL products.  The same applies to SPF (sun protection ratio).  AcnEase is a systemic (internal)product (this is why it works) so this description does not apply to it. However it is important to note that AcnEase - unlike almost ALL other acne treatments- is totally sun-safe (no sun restrictions are required when you use it).

Q: What research is there to support gluten causes acne? Rumor?

Gluten causes allergies, not acne directly but since allergy is an imbalance, secondarily it may be a cause of acne or it may intensify the condition indirectly.  DIET BY ITSELF DOES NO NOT CAUSE ACNE, but it MAY EXACERBATE IT.  Allergies and especially food allergies create imbalance of the body - and any imbalance may push other parts of the body (sebaceous glands too) to their imbalance. But if you are NOT allergic (celiac disease) or sensitive to gluten (gluten sensitivity), there is no connection.

Q: Is it safe to take Acnease while pregnant, trying to get pregnant or breastfeeding?

We have not had any adverse reaction noted by our pregnant customers or those that are breastfeeding. However, we recommend that you speak to your physician first before taking it in such a delicate condition.  Bring them the ingredients to review – and also note that none of the ingredients are on the FDA’s unsafe herbal list.

Q: I see the clinical trials were conducted for AcnEase. So did it work for all age groups?  15-31 year olds; and 32-55 years old?

Yes - in clinical testing, AcnEase worked very well for both younger and older sufferers and for both women and men. AcnEase has proven to be especially effective (over 98%) for women with hormonal and cystic acne. 95% women with adult acne, 85% men with Adult and Body Acne and 95% teens.

Q: If I am taking an antibiotic for acne, can I still take AcnEase?

We recommend to not take AcnEase with antibiotics used to clear acne (usually broad spectrum antibiotics) like tetracycline.
We feel that in such cases it is beneficial for the acne sufferer to make a decision what he/she wants to take, since antibiotics may (possibly not necessarily) decrease the efficacy of AcnEase.
HOWEVER, there is NO adverse effect associated with taking other antibiotics and Acnease together. Your progress with AcnEase may (possibly) be a bit slower and if that happens, we can guide you on how to slightly increase your dose to get desired results.  Again, we do recommend that you speak to your physician and provide them with a list of the ingredients before taking.

Q: I am on another acne treatment, so do I stop it or can I take them together?

Since acne is viewed as an external manifestation of an internal imbalance, topical products will only treat symptoms (and can sometimes exasperate symptoms).  AcnEase actually breaks the vicious cycle of acne and breakouts by attacking the cause internally.  It doesn't just treat the symptoms – it eliminates symptoms and prevents acne from coming.  We usually recommend to those looking to start AcnEase that if they are on another acne treatment to stop taking it so that AcnEase can do its job properly - we also don't want to be associated with products that potentially have side effects (AcnEase has no known side effects). As for topical agents, we recommend using which hazel on affected areas only and to stop using very harsh topical agents like salicylic acid.

Q: I don't like taking tablets. What can I do?

We recommend that at first you try taking the tablets with something thick, like yogurt, a fresh smoothie, applesauce, cottage cheese, pudding or a thicker juice. That way, you won't feel them going down.
If that doesn't work for you, it won't take away from the effectiveness if you try to crush the tablets (if you consume all the parts) and swallow them with a drink (ex. orange juice). BUT, not only will the taste be bitter because of the herbal ingredients but you have to make sure that you consume every bit of the tablets since each dose is standardized, and you need a full dose of active ingredients for the treatment to be efficient.
We do not recommend that you try to dissolve the tablets in water - this will not be efficacious. The taste will be very bitter and the tablets won’t even dissolve well. These are high quality tablets that are highly compressed - the “smart” coating (made of corn starch) allows the tablets to be easily swallowed and to be dissolved in the right place, which is the stomach, where they can be absorbed best.

Q: Can you define mild, moderate and severe acne?

Mild facial acne is usually defined as a small number of small pimples, usually on the face and forehead that appear periodically.
Moderate facial acne is usually defined as a larger number of pimples, some inflamed, cover larger areas of face and forehead, more persistent. ?
Severe acne is usually defined as larger pimples and some cysts, many inflamed, cover larger areas of face or back, persistent and chronic.
Body Acne is the same as listed above, just on parts of body.

Q: What is a maintenance dose?

A Maintenance Dose of AcnEase® is recommended after at least one full month treatment is successfully completed. It is a SMALL amount of the product (2-3 tablets twice a day) taken to prevent the new symptoms to occur and is usually used by those who have suffered with acne for a while and/or have a moderate to severe case of acne.
Acne is a manifestation of an internal imbalance that leads to the overproduction of sebum (skin oil) by the sebaceous glands. This extra sebum together with dirt creates an ideal condition for bacteria what results in inflammation that presents itself as acne (pimples, cysts etc).
To treat acne, one needs to rebalance the body and “re-program” sebaceous glands to produce a “normal” amount of sebum. To rebalance your system and your sebaceous glands, a minimum recommended time to use AcnEase for new customers is 4 weeks. The improvement is most likely to be seen in 7-10 days, but to get the MOST out of the product, a full course of treatment is recommended.
After the satisfied results are achieved, some customers opt to use a smaller, maintenance dose of AcnEase (2-3 tablets, 2 x’s daily) to make sure they do not suffer more breakouts. One bottle purchase is called “Maintenance Dose” and is recommended for this purpose.

Q: Which type of acne does this help?

ALL  Adult Acne, teen, menopausal, hormonal, cystic acne, body acne, stress-related acne,exercise-related acne, male hormonal acne, pregnancy acne

Q: Does this have any side effects?

No.  In our clinical testing, and over years of use, we have not had a single serious reaction to Acnease.  Very few complain about the smell of the tablets   (herbs!) and about small GI disagreement. AcnEase has been tested for safety in a dose 50 times lager that the recommended highest dose.

Q: Should I take AcnEase on an empty stomach?

The optimum way would be to take AcnEase before meals with water, and then wait about 10 minutes to eat in order to maximize the absorption of the ingredients in AcnEase. However if it presents an inconvenience, you can take AcnEase with meals.  If you consume AcnEase with a fatty meal, there is a marked delay in gastric emptying and there are many more enzymes released that can break down the active ingredients in AcnEase. If your meal is simple (ex. orange juice and toast) then it is not a problem. The more complex the meal (and possible alcohol) the more you should differentiate the timing with respect to taking your AcnEase.

Q: Are AcnEase herbs any different from herbs at health food stores?

AcnEase is a unique blend of specially selected, harvested, extracted and processed ingredients which efficacy supported by clinical research. The process and the proportion of herbs is a protected trade secret.
The SAME herbal ingredients DO NOT ALWAYS RESULT in the SAME PRODUCT or the SAME PROPERTIES of the product. As in manufacturing of wine, the same grapes may lead to a product that justifies a price of $5.99 or $159.00 per one litter bottle. Herbal supplements also depend on selection of ingredients and manufacturing processes for their efficacy and value.

Q: Dose AcnEase interfere with birth control pills (oral contraceptives)?

There is no evidence that AcnEase interferes with birth control pills.

Q: I’m the parent of a teen, and would like for my teen to take this.  But what do I choose for them?

For teens up to 15 (boy and girl), we recommend Mild Acne Treatment.
Girls 14+,mild acne treatment.
Boys 14+,moderate acne treatment, and if the boy is over 170 pounds and has SEVERE ACNE,they should use the Severe Acne Treatment.
Over 14, if the teen (boy and girl) has extremely severe acne, move to moderate (5 bottles)or and/ move to severe 7 bottles.

Q: Does AcnEase exacerbate existing Acne, or make it worse before it gets better?

To date, we have not had any feedback suggesting that the use of AcnEase exacerbated or worsened any individual's Acne. To the contrary, the majority of users report improvement during the first 10 days.  AcnEase was clinically developed to specifically treat acne. The herbs used in AcnEase were specifically selected for their effect on factors that cause Acne. To date,AcnEase has a very impressive track record. The results in adolescent acne, adult chronic acne, androgen-induced acne and the GI effects associated with skin disorders have been very favorable.
The temporary impression that acne may be worsening may be created by the fact that people tend to wish for“instant results”. Those pimples that are already forming in your skin when you start taking AcnEase will need to come out. And as Acnease will help them to heal faster, the real difference is in STOPING the formation of new acne.

Q: Does AcnEase help to decrease blackheads, whiteheads and oily skin?

AcnEase has been shown to be effective with all stages of acne including blackheads (comedones).Blackheads result from overproduction of sebum by the sebaceous glands. AcnEase restores the imbalance responsible for this over production of sebum. Once the production of sebum has been decreased, the pores will shrink. Oily skin should improve and blackheads and whiteheads should become less prevalent.

Q: While taking AcnEase, am I restricted from doing the following things?

Sun exposure - NO
Taking vitamins- NO
Taking oral antibiotics- YES.  You should not use AcnEase until your course of treatment with antibiotics is completed or discontinued.
Use of topical antibiotics- NO.  But it is not necessary to use both. AcnEase should provide satisfactory improvement without any additional topical products.Non-irritating cleansers that keep your skin clean can, however, can be used in conjunction with AcnEase.
In conjunction with over the counter (OTC) products for Acne - NO, unless the OTC products cause the skin to become overly dry. We recommend that you give AcnEase a chance all by itself. Hopefully you will not need other products after one short month of treatment, saving you money and aggravation.

Q: Will AcneEase dry and/or irritate my skin?

NO

Q: Dose AcneEase have any known side effects?

NO.  For those people with a skin disorder combined with a GI disorder, the experience with AcnEase shows that it ALLEVIATES GI associated problems such as Heartburn and Gastric Reflux.  Also,Acnease has been reported to improve overly dry skin and over oily hair.

Q: What is the highest recommended dose of AcnEase?

The minimum standard recommended dose is 8 tablets a day for one month. However, for very persistent or resistant Acne, the dose has been safely increased to 18 tablets a day (3x's/ day,6 tablets).

Q: If I have Acne, can I use AcnEase longer than one month?

YES. You can continue using AcnEase until you achieve the desired results. After a desirable response is achieved, you may opt to reduce the dose to 4 tablets a day, which is considered a Maintenance Dose.

Q: If I have acne rosacea, should I use AcnEase in the same manner that it is recommended for acne?

YES. The only difference with Acne Rosacea may be that after you achieve your desired results, you will need to use the Maintenance Dose for a longer period of time as Rosacea cannot be treated - only symptoms can be controlled.

Q: Does AcnEase work for both Women and Men?

YES. Acnease has no hormonal ingredients.

Q: Does AcnEase work for people with light or dark complexions?

YES. AcnEase has been shown to work independent of the color of the skin(pigmentation) of the users. Please note that AcnEase DOES NOT CAUSE ANY DISCOLORATION OF SKIN in individuals with dark skin.

Q: Dose AcnEase help to improve hair?

Experience shows that for individuals with androgen-induced acne and those with overly dry scalps and dry hair, AcnEase may improve the condition of the scalp and hair. Similarly, individuals with over oily hair may notice that treatment with AcnEase results in an improvement in overall hair condition.

Q: Have your products been reviewed by the FDA?

Alternative Medicines that are composed of herbs and natural ingredients are considered dietary supplements and therefore covered by the Dietary Supplement Health Education Act (DSHEA) of 1994. Under this provision, these products are not reviewed by the FDA, only their labels and the claims they make are.

Q: Are the products tested for purity and contaminants?

YES.  AcnEase is tested for heavy metal contaminants and pesticides, insecticides and bio-burden.

Q: How safe are these products compared to Prescription Drugs?

Herborium's products have been tested in pre-clinical toxicology studies to show they are safe. As with all medicines, it is important to follow the directions for the product. Excessive consumption of the products above the recommended dose can lead to side effects. All prescription drugs also carry similar warning and recommendations.

Q: Can I take these medicines with other herbal medicines?

Since most herbal based medicines work to restore balance, some of the products may or may not be advised to be used concurrently.  There no specific products that are known to be in direct conflict with AcnEase. Clients are advised to consult with their physician.

Q: Can I take these medicines while taking vitamins?

There is no known counter indication for vitamins or minerals to be taken with AcnEase.  We recommend that users follow the Recommended Daily Allowance for all products.

Q: Does drinking alcohol or smoking cigarettes have any bad influence on the treatment?

Smoking, in any amount, DEFINITELY has a BAD IMPACT on the skin. An occasional drink (occasional means a beer, a glass of wine with dinner or a cocktail on the weekend) will not impact your results, but excessive drinking will (please remember beer also contains sugar) so it is up to you to use alcohol in moderation.

Q: What makes AcnEase different and so beneficial?

Acne is an external manifestation of an internal problem. It needs to be treated from the inside out in order to make the sebaceous glands produce less skin oil so that your skin gets balanced (no more acne!).
We’ve been able to calculate over time that AcnEase has a 96% user success rate (in addition to being clinically proven). It helps where no other treatment does by attacking the cause of acne at the beginning of the acne cascade (step 1 – the over-secretion of sebum by the sebaceous glands) – therefore, it PREVENTS acne from coming which is vital to breaking the acne cycle. AcnEase® actually helps treat the symptoms but in addition, IT GETS TO THE ROOT OF THE ACNE CAUSE to make it go away now and in the future. AcnEase® does this without side effects, drying or irritating the skin, or sun restrictions, making it completely safe for anyone with any type of acne to use.
AcnEase is made of a high quality blend of botanical ingredients known for their acne-treating benefits. The ingredients are also extracted in a specific way to make it a unique, effective formula.

Q: As a first-time user, what should I choose?

As a first-time user, you should start with the treatment phase to see the best results. Each treatment requires a specific number of bottles for one-month:  mild acne (3 bottles), moderate acne (5 bottles), severe acne, (7 bottles).
We recommend a minimum one-month treatment, and to continue with the treatment even if you start to see results within 10 days. NOTE: The product is the same for each treatment. There are 72 tablets per bottle. Each treatment requires a different daily dose - instructions come with the order.
This is not like a cosmetic or topical product, you have to take the easy to swallow small pill regularly. The minimum recommendation is to take AcnEase for one month. At the end of the first month, you may be done, depending on the severity of your acne. For those with severe acne, you may need to stay on the treatment phase beyond one-month to see the fully desired results. If by the third week of the first month you don’t see the desired results, purchase another one-month round of treatments. And it is completely safe to do so.

Q: As a repeat user, should I continue with the treatment phase or go on the to the maintenance phase?

After the recommended one-month treatment, some may choose to continue with the treatment phase until they see the desired results.  Or, for those who have seen the desired results after one-month, and want to maintain them, they can decide to enter the maintenance phase.  This is a possible phase for those who have seen the desired results and want to maintain them (AFTER the treatment phase). This is more for someone who has had moderate to severe acne – especially as an adult. If you decide to go to the maintenance phase after the treatment, and you had moderate to severe acne (especially if chronic), we highly recommend that you consider weening down slowly instead of going down to maintenance immediately. We show you how to do this here. NOTE: One bottle (per month) represents a maintenance dose, and is not for a first-timer entering the treatment phase.One-bottle is only for the maintenance phase after you've been through the treatment phase and have seen desired results.

Q: AcnEase® works! My skin is clear! What do I do next?

Stopping the treatment suddenly may work for some but for some it may also increase the risk for flare-ups to return. So we developed a strategy to minimize this risk. We suggest that instead of stopping AcnEase cold-turkey, you wean yourself off the treatment slowly by going down by one level of treatment over a 1-2 month period. For example, if you are on the severe acne regimen, you go down to moderate acne regimen. Stay on this level for 1-2 months, and if your skin remains clear, go down to the mild acne regimen for 1-2 months. If you don't see any flare-ups within 1-2 months, then go down to the maintenance treatment. You can stay on the maintenance for a long time, as AcnEase is safe for long-term use. Or, if you don't see any flare-ups in 1-2 months on the lowest maintenance dose (2x3 or 2x2 tablets daily), then congratulations! You may opt to stop taking the product all together.
Numerous individuals with chronic acne opt to use AcnEase regularly on a lower regimen for a long time to make sure they maintain clear skin. All of the dosages for the treatments are located on each product page on our website and also come with your order. Learn more here.

Q: Am I going to have to be on AcnEase® forever?

No, you will not. We talk more about this over here.
